LASER HAIR THERAPY
What is
laser hair therapy?
Laser
light hair loss treatment is the latest non-surgical attempt as hair growth
treatment. It utilizes infrared low-level cool laser light as hair loss
therapy. According to the manufacturer
it is used “to encourage hair to appear thicker, fuller and healthier.”
Laser light hair therapy uses
low-level cool laser rays directly on the scalp. There are no thermal
components that might cause cut, burn inner tissue. According to the
manufacturers laser light therapy stimulates the red blood supply to the
scalp. The added supply of red blood cells then supposed to give oxygen
and nutrients to the scalp area. It stimulates the scalp and promotes
blood circulation, which may create a healthy environment for your own
hair to grow. Hair may appear thicker, fuller and healthier.
How does the laser light therapy work?
Laser light hair apparatus
appears much like an old-fashioned hair dryer hood that fits over the
head. You sit under the hood and the apparatus rotates and radiates
infrared laser light on the scalp. It's a visible red light wave and
is supposed to be non cancer-causing. It has been marketed for over 6 years
now. Please note that laser light therapy should be used with proper eye
covering protection.
What about activating the blood
circulation?
You will hear talk of enzymes
activation when exposed to the proper wavelength of energy, or increase
protein synthesis, cell division, blood flow, and tissue rejuvenation.
Increased blood circulation does not prevent hereditary hair loss.
Low-level laser light does penetrate into skin, and stimulate blood cells.
Today some doctors use laser light to promote faster wound healing, and
reduces inflammation of the skin.

Is the laser therapy approved by the FDA?
Note that laser light is
approved for cosmetic use... on skin/wrinkles, NOT for balding. Once
there is hair loss, in other words the hair shaft root died, no amount of
laser light will revive the root back to life to produce hair again.
